Maria Montessori
(1870〜1952)was a first female physician in Italy.She
developed a new philosophy of education based opon her
intuitive observations of children. A main
feature of her idea is "Sensitive Periods" which are
blocks of time in a child's life when he or she is
absorbed with one characteristic of his or her
environment to the exclusion of all others.She
advocated If a child was given an appropriate
environment and an assist/support,he or
she develops his or her innate potential
according to his or her natural desire.
